International Student Experience

Each new international student is paired with an International Ambassador student mentor before she arrives, to help her adjust and find her lifelong friends.

In addition to being a resource for international students, ambassadors host events throughout the year including the annual pumpkin carving event at Halloween — always a fun experience!

Foxcroft’s diversity and global community is never on more prominent display than during our annual International Week, organized by the World Languages Department, Global Cultures Club, and International Ambassadors. International Week boasts meals that take us around the globe, served throughout the week and chosen through surveying our student body, as well as trying to be representative of the countries we DO have in our community, and prepared by the Dining Hall staff. Students have created menus, brought in family recipes, and will share information about each cuisine and its respective culture.

The week culminates with the much anticipated International Gala and International Bazaar. The Gala will kick off Friday evening festivities with performances from many of our talented international and domestic students, followed by the Bazaar featuring workshops and interactive events.

International students have fun weekend activities designed just for them, including regular trips to the international market to shop for foods that remind them of home. Special holidays are recognized throughout the year, from school-wide Spanish Heritage Month celebrations to smaller group outings to favorite restaurants in honor of the Lunar New Year.

In addition to bringing diverse perspectives and cultures to the community, Foxcroft's international students also have the opportunity to hold prominent leadership positions with their domestic partners. Whether acting as a class officer, whip or prefect in the dorm, or leading a club, international students gain valuable experience as leaders and make valuable contributions to the community.

Our Director of International Student Services and Recruitment supports girls in many aspects of their lives, teaching English at the appropriate level for each student as well as serving as their faculty advisor and a resource for parents and guardians.
